Tending Janet's Memorial Herb Garden

Bring with you:  clippers, bags or buckets for seedpods and debris.

The control panel is located just beyond the herb garden between the herb, wedding and rose gardens.  The knob in the upper right must be turned back to the left top quadrant to START TIMES and then back to the bottom right MANUAL.  Then press the top right triangular button to adjust the time to 30 minutes to an hour depending upon the amount of watering you think the garden needs.

Take the hose to water the weeping mulberry and the rose as both of them need more water.

This is a Brugsmania (Angel Trumpet) seedling.  It is also known as DATURA.  These plants are extremely poisonous and must be pulled out whenever we see them.  Their leaves are thin, large, and soft. They are evergreen or semi-evergreen. This is a giant garlic seed pod.  This is also known as Elephant garlic.  We are gathering all the seeds in the garden to share at our October meeting.  Bring several plastic buckets to put the seed heads in as there will need to be a different bucket (paper or plastic bag) for each seed type so we can keep them labeled. Deadhead the plants at the base of the seed pod.  Look at the label and label your bag.  Always water the rose and the weeping mulberry.  They are most stressed by the heat.
