BIO Sharman
Burson Ramsey is a novelist originally from Dothan, Alabama, now living in Panama City,
Florida, with her husband, retired attorney, Joel Ramsey, and their
standard poodle, Gracie. Ramsey's first novel, Swimming with Serpents, set against the backdrop of the Creek Indian War, was published in September 2012 by Mercer University Press. The sequel, In Pursuit,
set during the First Seminole War, will be released in September of
2013. The Mint Julep Mysteries (Creme de Cassis and Murder, Mint Juleps
and Murder and Mayans, Muscadine and Murder) are her most recent
publications. She has a MSE from Troy University in Dothan and a BSE
from the
University of Alabama where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta
sorority. Her roots grow deep in the Deep South. Her love of all things
Southern led to the development of this website. She is a member of the
Wilcox County, Alabama, Historical Society. Ramsey has taught 7th
through 12th grades in public and private schools and writing classes
in community outreach programs, as well as having served as an adjunct
history professor at Troy and Gulf Coast. She has also co-hosted an area radio talk show on politics and education.
